Just heard about a new service opening to the public at Blippy.com. It’s a new way to share what people are buying. You sign up and add a credit card or authorize an online account like Amazon, iTunes or GoDaddy. Then everytime you buy something it autoposts the amount and the details of your transaction for the world to see. I just don’t understand why anyone would want to publish this information publicly. I get Mint, Outright and MoneyStrands, where users can track and manage their money online. But why would I want to share my personal financial history with the world? In real-time?
I could see spammers running all over this data. Creating feeds that track my purchase history and selling lists of users that shop at specific stores or have specific buying tendencies.
Blippy just raised $1.6 million from some the the biggest names in the VC world. So apparently, those that are smarter than I understand the value.
Someone please explain?!?

So I’m pretty sure people want to do this just because they can. However, it’s a lot like why do people tweet ? Who care’s if your sitting on the toilet ready to take a huge dump…people are silly when it comes down to sharing too much information!
