Yesterday the Indy RNC development team launched it’s first campaign on GOP.com. We built out an application for the American public to tell Vice-President Joe Biden what they think about Health Care.
Call 1-877-7-TELL-JOE or fill out the form below to let VP Biden know what you think.

I convinced Matt, Lisa and Brandon (team members at the RNC) to go to Scotty’s yesterday so I could use my free birthday coupon. Problem is…I couldn’t get it to print before we left. So we just enjoyed Scotty’s in the traditional fashion (I happily paid for my meal). But my coupon expires today, so here I am again (writing this while enjoying my ice cream sundae) at the Scotty’s in downtown. Love the atmosphere. Love the free wi-fi. Love the food.

Thanks Scotty for a great free lunch.

I’ve been out of commission for the last week+. I spent 5 days in Washington, DC at the Conservative Political Action Conference (#CPAC10) and I came home sick and have been playing catch up ever since.

For those that don’t know, CPAC is the event of the year for conservatives. Speakers included Congressmen, Senators, a former Vice President, non-profit leaders and TV/Radio personalities. I had the pleasure to meet/interact with Senator Jim Demint from South Carolina, my Congressman Mike Pence from Indiana, author Eric Metaxas, actor/comedian/activist Stephen Baldwin and many other conservative leaders. It was energizing to be a small part of such a growing movement that I believe will change the landscape of our country for decades to come.

CPAC was great and my sickness was awful. Both are over now. I’ll be posting this week about some projects I’ve been working on for months that are finally going live.

My fiancé would be the first to tell you that I’m a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants over-worker that needs someone or something in my life to maintain order. In my personal life I’m grateful for her to keep me on track. In my professional life I’ve found (finally) the solution. Tungle.me

Tungle is a free web-based calendar platform that merges multiple calendars into a single user interface that makes it super easy to schedule meetings with clients, co-workers and friends.

It took me all of 2 minutes to sign up for a Tungle account and integrate my URBaCS Google Calendar with my RNC Outlook Calendar. Then I created a simple subdomain redirect to make it even easier to share my schedule with others. If you face similar scheduling challenges, give Tungle a try.

This blog post summarizes my thoughts about a recent New York Times article, How Christian Were the Founders? It’s a long article, but definitely worth the read.

There is a battle going on in the state of Texas that may shape the Church/State/Classroom relationship across the country for decades to come. Texas sets the educational guidelines for most of the states in the US. Their Board of Education sets the direction of the content that is printed in textbooks that are adopted by 46 other states. And right now there is a huge fight going on about how Christianity fits into the historical context of our country.

Christian Conservatives, myself included, believe that because our country was founded as “One Nation Under God” we should work to merge Christian beliefs into our educational system. We believe that the Bible and Mosaic law provide foundations for American law and therefore should be taught as such.

David Barton, leader of WallBuilders, continues the argument and suggests that the following points are derived directly from the Declaration of Independence, and therefore should be included in American history lessons.

There is a fixed moral law derived from God and nature.

There is a Creator.

The Creator gives to man certain unalienable rights.

Government exists primarily to protect God-given rights to every individual.

Below God-given rights and moral laws, government is directed by the consent of the governed.

Liberals will argue that the First Amendment clearly strong arms a separation between church and state, but I agree with David Barton. The founders were all Christians, and the purpose of the First Amendment was merely to ensure that no single Christian denomination be elevated to the role of state church.

I believe that every American is free to choose their own religion and their own God (or none at all). It’s not my place to tell you what to believe. But I think we would be overlooking a very important part of our history if we ignored the forefathers beliefs in our understanding of the framework of our democracy.

“Those people who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants.”

Meetordie.com has created a way to measure just how must is wasted in meetings. Enter your company name or industry, the number of people that will be attending and the length of the meeting and they’ll spit back an estimated waste cost. I’m not sure how scientific this is…but it’s definitely entertaining to at least get a rough idea of how much companies waste.
